Our History

Hawktivity was started as a research and development team in Polymorph Systems in 2020 by a group of engineers and business professionals who saw the potential of AI to transform the way companies operate. Since then, we've been working tirelessly to develop and refine our solutions and recently spun out as a new company in the Alphawave Group. We're proud to help businesses improve their productivity and efficiency.

Richard Barry

CEO

Richard is the founder and CEO of Hawktivity. He holds an MSc in Electric and Electronic Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch. He has more than 20 years of experience in software and AI and has founded several companies in these fields. He has a passion for using technology to help businesses increase productivity and efficiency.

Hardus Richter

Senior AI Engineer

Hardus is the senior AI engineer with over 7 years of experience in the field. He holds a Master of Engineering from the University of Pretoria and specializes in computer vision and AI. He is responsible for leading the development and implementation of AI-based solutions for Hawktivity.

Waldo Minnaar

Senior Systems Engineer

Waldo is the Senior Systems Engineer at Hawktivity. He has more than 10 years of experience in designing and building a wide range of products, from electronics to software, hardware and AI. He holds an MSc in Electric and Electronic Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch. He is responsible for leading the development and implementation of product solutions.

Michael Deyzel

Computer Vision Engineer

Michael is an AI engineer at Hawktivity. He holds an MEng in Electric and Electronic Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch. He specializes in using computer vision to recognise human actions, and has experience in building and implementing AI solutions for various industries. He is committed to using AI to improve efficiency and productivity for businesses.
